Hanoi

Jeez, after thirty three hours of waiting around airports, eating (mostly) bad meals and drifting off to sleep in mid-sentence we have arrived in Hanoi.

The airport is pretty modern but as you drive out of the parking lot you immediately become aware that the airport is surrounded by rice fields and water buffalo. The two lanes leading Hanoi are crammed with people on motor scooters in twos and even threes. We also saw people with pigs on their bikes. Amazing. It is really a wonder the highway isn't littered with a tangle of buses, bikes, pigs, and humans. We're off to dinner. Vietnamese food tonight!
