While Whispering Johnson is on a rather long hiatus while Jim lives in Milwaukee, Kurt and I (Oren) are playing regularly with Ned Gerhart on saxophone and Tim Lerch on guitar. Tim and I will be playing as a duo on Friday, July 21 at Victor's Coffee and on July 29 at Soul Food Books, both in Redmond, WA.

Jim notes that we've been linked to from some other places too:

And this one, with a little pic of the 44 leadsheet:

This one seems to show up in two other places:

Fun!
I'm particularly fond of the Babelfish translation from the second link:
Music in CC Whispering Johnson is one group that rilascia own music (is mp3 that you share yourself to it) using one Creative Common license. With diffusing themselves of more and more powerful instruments for being able to express the own creativity in the most various limbs and with the possibility instantaneously to disclose them through the net, these licences become more and more important. You take famous.
Sure - we'll take famous :)

Looks like lots of you are downloading the tunes and looking at the lead sheets. That is soooo cool! If you like the stuff, or have questions, or just want to say hi, drop us a line at: whisperingj at addr dot com

The new recording, The Birthday Numbers, is available! The recording has eight of Jim's original numbers, recorded live at the studio in August, 2004. The recording and the lead sheets are available here on the music page, or you can write and order a CD from us, in a nifty sleeve designed by our friend Tom Lenon.
The audio recordings and the sheet music are both available with Creative Commons licenses - this means that you are free to download, listen to, share, remix, and perform these songs with our permission, as long as we get some attribution in the process. If you do make use of and enjoy the songs, we'd love to hear about it, so drop us a note! (whisperingj at addr dot com )

Jim has moved from Seattle to Milwaukie, Wisconsin, to be the head curatorial honcho of the upcoming Harley-Davidson Museum! Needless to say, we won't be having weekly Whispering Johnson rehearsals any more, but make us the right offer and I'm sure special gigs can be arranged (hint, hint).
